Local Stations on Both Coasts Announce Plans to Raise Money for Hurricane Sandy Relief
Philadelphia’s KYW and Sacramento’s KCRA have both separately announced plans to provide disaster relief for those affected by Hurricane Sandy through the American Red Cross.
In Philadelphia, CBS O&O KYW will air cut-ins at the top of every hour and in newscasts from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow. KYW’s Susan Barnett, Chris May, Pat Ciarrocchi, Ukee Washington and Erika von Tiehl, along with personalities from CW Philadelphia and the local CBS owned radio stations will staff a phone bank to take pledges for the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Response Fund.
In Sacramento, NBC affiliate KCRA will air live cut-ins asking for donations during regular programming and newscasts from 6 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Viewers in Sacramento can donate by calling 1-800-513-3333 or by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Philadelphia viewers can call 1-877-KYW3-ASK (1-877-599-3275) or also texti the word REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10.
