Perkins will co-anchor from 7 to 10 a.m. alongside Allison Seymour, while Martin will co-anchor from 4:30 to 7 a.m. with Sarah Simmons. Both Perkins and Martin have held these roles on a temporary basis since earlier this year; Perkins replaced Steve Chenevey in January, while Martin replaced Gurvir Dhindsa in March.

“We are pleased to welcome Tony and Wisdom into these new roles on our FOX 5 morning newscasts,” WTTG vice president and news director Phil Metlin said in a statement. “They are both seasoned journalists, who are widely respected in this market.”

Joanne Feldman Replaces Jeff Hill on WAGA’s ‘Good Day Atlanta’

Joanne Feldman has replaced Jeff Hill as WAGA‘s weekday morning meteorologist, as the Fox O&O continues to revamp its morning newscast.

Feldman, who has been with the station since 2007, joins a “Good Day Atlanta” team that has been retooled in recent months.  WAGA welcomed anchor Gurvir Dhindsa back to the show this spring after a decade away, and the station recently added Buck Lanford to its morning roster, freeing up longtime anchor Mark Hayes to do more reporting.

As for Hill, he recently announced via Facebook that he will be working the station’s noon newscast during the week and appearing on weekends at 6 and 10 p.m. Read more

WAGA Launches MyAtlantaMoms Blog

This morning Atlanta’s WAGA unveiled MyAtlantaMoms, a new blog geared toward local mothers.

Anchor Gurvir Dhindsa, who recently returned to WAGA as the Fox O&O revamped its morning show, introduced and interviewed the four bloggers responsible for MyAtlantaMoms today, saying that it was “a place where these moms talk about the issues important to you” (video above).

At first glance, the new blog is very similar to the mom-centric site that the “Today” show launched in 2009. In fact, the two sites currently have the same lead story about a controversial J. Crew ad showing a mom painting her son’s toenails pink.

After a Decade Away, Gurvir Dhindsa Returns to WAGA’s ‘Good Day Atlanta’

Gurvir Dhindsa is returning to WAGA‘s “Good Day Atlanta.”

Dhindsa, who has been working as an anchor for D.C. Fox O&O WTTG since 2004, previously anchored “Good Day Atlanta” from 1997 to 2000.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gurvir back,” said WAGA vice president and general manager Bill Schneider, in making the announcement. “Her knowledge of Atlanta combined with her ability to connect with viewers makes her the ideal candidate to host ‘Good Day.’”

Dhindsa is replacing Suchita Vadlamani, who abruptly left the station in December. She’ll anchor alongside Mark Hayes.

“Coming back to Atlanta has crossed my mind many times over the years,” Dhindsa told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I’ve often said ‘Good Day Atlanta’ was the best job I ever had.” Read more
