WDTN Anchor Leaves to Join Chamber of Commerce

holly*304xx889-1333-56-0Holly Samuels, a morning anchor at Dayton NBC affiliate WDTN, will leave the station to join the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce as director of marketing and communications.

The Dayton Business Journal reports Samuels will use her married name, Holly Allen, when she starts October first:

“Holly’s extensive background in public relations, journalism and business outreach gives her a unique skill set that will be an asset to the members of the chamber,” said Phil Parker, president and CEO of the chamber. “Marketing and communications is an essential function of the chamber and I’m excited to have Holly overseeing these efforts.”

Currently, Allen is co-anchor of 2 NEWS Today weekday mornings on WDTN/WBDT. Before joining the desk on 2 NEWS Today, she was a reporter and weekend anchor for the station.

John Seibel Named Morning Anchor at WDTN

john seidelJohn Seibel is joining Dayton NBC affiliate WDTN as the co-anchor of the morning newscast.

Seibel is a Dayton native and a Gulf War veteran. He comes to WDTN from Pittsburgh, where was a radio host who helped launch the first all-sports radio station in the city. Prior to that, he worked at ESPN.

“I’ve covered stories and experienced nearly every corner of the country, but I’m excited to be coming home,” Seibel said in a statement. “I look forward to beginning each morning with the viewers of 2 NEWS and I’m excited to join the 2 NEWSToday team.”

Beginning January 27, Seibel will join Holly Samuels and meteorologist Jamie Jarosik on the station’s morning newscast.
