Holly Steuart Named VP-GM of WTVM

Holly Steuart has been named vice president and general manager at WTVM, Raycom Media’s ABC affiliate in Columbus, Ga.

Until December, Steuart was general manager at WHP, the CBS affiliate in Harrisburg, Pa. She was let go when Sinclair Broadcasting bought the station from Newport Television. She has also worked as general manager of KFYR-KQCD in Bismarck, N.D. and KVVU in Las Vegas.

Steuart replaces Lee Brantley, who will retire in July after 18 years at WTVM’s general manager.

“I feel really honored to follow in Lee’s footsteps and be able to have the opportunity to build on the past 18 years of his leadership,” Steuart said in a statement. “I think WTVM has a great team in every department and I’m just delighted to join them and be part of Raycom Media.”

Arthur Hasson Named GM at WHP-WLYH

Arthur Hasson has been named general manager of WHP, Sinclair’s CBS affiliate in Harrisburg, Pa. He will also oversee WLYH, the CW affiliate operated by Sinclair.

Hasson is a former executive vice president of NBC Universal, where he worked from 1990-2005. Since 2006, he has been president of MultiPlatform Distribution Company, a producer and distributor of television programming.

“Arthur’s background in television distribution, as well as his experience in integrating social media, offers Sinclair a unique opportunity to utilize his talents both on a local and company-wide level,” Sinclair COO Steve Marks said in a statement. “We look forward to incorporating Arthur’s creative spirit in the stations’ consumer and viewer outreach.”

Hasson replaces Holly Steuart, who was released last month after Sinclair took ownership of WHP.

General Manager Holly Steuart Exits WHP

WHP‘s Holly Steuart is the latest general manager to exit a newly-owned Sinclair station, according to Broadcasting & Cable.

Sinclair officially took ownership of six stations from Newport Television on Monday. General managers at WKRC in Cincinnati and WOAI in San Antonio both departed on Friday, before the ownership change took place.

“They said they wouldn’t go forward with me, that they were bringing a new person in,” Steuart told B&C. Read more

WHP Transitions to HD with New Studio

WHP, the CBS-affiliate in Harrisburg, PA, has made the switch to high definition and unveiled a brand-new set.

The new space, designed by Devlin Design Group, features an expansive video wall consisting of six 50-inch monitors that can either display one image or a series of images.

“Viewer feedback has been wonderful,” WHP vice president and general manager Holly Steuart said of the station’s new HD look. Read more

Carlisle, PA Mayor Kirk Wilson Will Resign For WHP Reporting Job

After 26 years as mayor of Carlisle, PA, Kirk Wilson announced today that he will resign in order to join Harrisburg’s WHP as a reporter.

“He is a popular mayor and a life-long resident of the area,” WHP vice president and general manager Holly Steuart said in a statement. “He really understands the people and issues that impact our daily lives.”

Before becoming mayor in 1985, Wilson had a career in radio and television news, including a reporting job at WHP beginning in 1978. His second stint at the station will start on January 4.

“Over the years, I have become knowledgeable in the operation of state government and local communities,” Wilson said. “I believe this is invaluable in bringing the news to viewers in this region with new insight.”
