Jim Rosenfield Set to Join WCAU as Anchor

WCAU has announced Jim Rosenfield will join the Philadelphia NBC owned station as anchor for its 4:00, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts beginning September 9.

“Jim is a consummate journalist who is respected by his peers as a true professional,” said Anzio Williams, WCAU’s vice president of news. “I’m looking forward to introducing him to our viewers and welcoming him to the NBC10 family.”

Rosenfield comes to WCAU from the Washington, D.C. NBC owned station WRC where he was a weekend anchor and reporter. Before working at WRC, Rosenfield was an anchor at WNBC and later WCBS in New York. He started his career at WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and has also worked at KTRK in Houston, TX, and WLS in Chicago.

New York TV Gets a Little Help From Their Friends

New York TV stations are enlisting help from their O&O friends covering the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. As we told you yesterday, WFOR (CBS) South Florida reporter Ted Scouten is in New York covering the storm and aftermath for both his station as well as WCBS. And today on WNBC, we spotted WTVJ (NBC) South Florida reporter Julia Bagg in Belmar, New Jersey along the Jersey Shore. And further north, Jim Rosenfield, of WNBC sister station WRC in Washington, DC, is in Keansburg, NJ on the Raritan Bay. In the case of Rosenfield, it’s a return to WNBC. He was the anchor of “Live at 5″ from 2000-2005.

Veteran Anchor Jim Rosenfield Joining WRC

Jim Rosenfield, a veteran anchor who made his mark in New York with WNBC and WCBS, is joining WRC in Washington, D.C. The NBC-owned station announced today that Rosenfield is coming on board as a weekend anchor.

“Jim is a talented anchor and reporter, but more importantly, he’s an all-around good guy,” said Camille Edwards, WRC’s vice president of news, announcing the move. “I’ve known him for almost 20 years, and I am so happy to be working with him again. He is a perfect addition to our winning news team.”

Rosenfield spent a decade working as a reporter and anchor in New York, first at WCBS, then at WNBC, then back at WCBS, where he replaced Ernie Anastos on the station’s evening newscasts. He signed off from WCBS for good in May of 2008. Read more
