Kristina Pink Joining Fox Sports in Los Angeles

Kristina Pink is joining Fox Sports in Los Angeles, TVSpy has confirmed.

Pink, who was most recently a sports reporter at Miami NBC O&O WTVJ, will begin at the Fox Sports on August 27. Her first assignment will be as an NFL sideline reporter when football season begins the following week.

Prior to working at WTVJ, Pink was a sports anchor for WGNO, the ABC-affiliate in New Orleans, and WDBD, the Fox-affiliate in Jackson.

Kristina Pink Says Goodbye to Miami’s WTVJ

Kristina Pink signed off this weekend from WTVJ, the NBC O&O in Miami.

Pink, a sports reporter, joined the station last year after she was let go from WGNO in New Orleans, where she was a sports reporter and weekend anchor. “My last day at NBC6 South Florida! I’m going to miss these wonderful people…” Pink wrote on Facebook.

There is no official word yet on where Pink is headed next, but it is rumored to be somewhere in Los Angeles.

Evening anchor Jessica Holly (pictured), reporters Christian Jennings and Glenn Boyd, and sports anchor Kristina Pink have all been cut loose at WGNO, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Four photographers have also been let go.

The station says it plans to expand the “News with a Twist” programming, which debuted earlier this year in the 6 p.m. timeslot, into the 5 p.m. hour. “News with a Twist,” which news director Rick Erbach calls “a great alternative if you’re tired of traditional news,” will also air in place of the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on Saturday.

WGNO general manager John Cruse said the layoffs, which were announced in a staff meeting last Thursday, were because the “News with a Twist” model requires fewer staffers than a typical newscast. Read more
