Maria Sansone Named Morning Co-Anchor at KTTV

Maria Sansone has been named co-anchor of “Good Day LA,” the morning newscast on Los Angeles Fox O&O KTTV.

Sansone moves to Los Angeles from New York City, where she was most recently a field reporter for NBC O&O WNBC. She has previously worked as a correspondent for TV Guide Network and as a VJ for MTV.

“Maria has interviewed everyone from pop culture icons and sports legends, to everyday people with compelling stories,” KTTV VP-GM Kevin Hale said in a statement. “Her contagious energy and signature style will be vital to the next generation of ‘Good Day LA.’”

Sansone appeared on the program during an on-air audition over the summer. She officially begins October 1 alongside anchor Steve Edwards, meteorologist Rick Dickert, weather anchor Maria Quiban and contributor Jillian Reynolds on “Good Day LA.” She replaces Dorothy Lucey, who left the station in May after her contract was not renewed.
