lauren st germainChattanooga ABC affiliate WTVC has named an anchor team for its weekend morning newscast, which will launch next month: anchor Lauren St. Germain (pictured), meteorologist Jason Disharoon and reporter Betsy Goldin.

“We waited to expand Good Morning Chattanooga on Saturday and Sunday until we could do it right – right in terms of staffing, right in terms of resources,” general manager Mike Costa said in a statement. “To do that, it means expanding our news staff – to have a dedicated team focused on producing a weekend morning newscast that will be fresh and useful. St. Germain joins WTVC from WTVY in Dothan, Ala., where she anchored the 9 p.m. newscast. Goldin most recently worked at WJHG in Panama City, Fla., where she was a producer and reporter on the noon newscast. Disharoon, currently WTVC’s weekend meteorologist, has worked at the station since 2011,

“Since being given that advice,” said Patterson. “I’ve always imagined the camera as my younger brother, Panky, in Athens. I imagine myself talking to him, figuring if he can understand what I’m trying to say, anyone can. Panky has never understood that that’s a compliment, by the way!” Read more
