CBS announced two new general managers at its O&Os this morning: Bruno Cohen (pictured) will join KPIX in San Francisco, and Marty Wilke will join WBBM in Chicago.

Cohen replaces Ron Longinotti, whose departure was first reported yesterday by San Francisco media blogger Rich Leiberman. In a statement, CBS said Longinotti is “leaving the company to pursue other endeavors.”

Cohen has been the general manager at WBBM since 2008. He is a Bay Area native who was president and general manager of KOVR-KMAX, the CBS duopoly in Sacramento, for three years before moving to Chicago. KPIX Promotes ‘Home Grown’ Meteorologist Lawrence Karnow to Weekdays

KPIX is promoting longtime weekend weathercaster Lawrence Karnow to weekdays. Karnow, who has been with the CBS O&O since 1997, will now appear on KPIX’s weekday morning and noon newscasts.

“We have been very fortunate to have an individual of such expertise as Lawrence hold down the weather fort on weekends for many years.  Now, it is especially gratifying to move our ‘home grown’ meteorologist into this significantly larger role within the news organization” said president and general manager Ron Longinotti, in announcing the move.

Karnow, who grew up in Salinas, began his career at NBC-affiliate KSBW and joined KPIX in the summer of ’97. In 2005, he was awarded the Seal of Approval of the American Meteorological Society.

“I never thought I’d be so excited to get up in the middle of the night to go to work!” says Karnow. “I am thankful for the opportunity.”
