Anchor Ron Trevino Marks 30 Years at KHOU

Morning anchor Ron Trevino is celebrating 30 years at KHOU, the CBS-affiliate in Houston.

“I’ve had the best job in the world … and on many occasions, the worst, because also too numerous to mention, are all the stories that brought you and me to tears,” Trevino writes in a guest post on MikeMcGuff.com. “Triumphs and tragedies and everything in between. Sorry if that sounds like a cliché, but that’s life. And ‘life’ is basically what I still cover, to this day.”

Ron Trevino Returns to Houston Mornings at KHOU

Starting next Monday, Ron Trevino will be in the anchor chair for KHOU’s morning show — again.

Trevino used to anchor the morning hours on the Houston-area CBS affiliate with Deborah Duncan. This time around, he will join Christine Haas, Katherine Whaley and David Paul.

“Waking up at 2:30 every morning to be at work so early? Well, I will have to get used to that all over again,” Trevino told Houston media blogger Mike McGuff. “I’m buying all new alarm clocks.”

Also at KHOU, Saturday morning anchor Allison Triarsi is leaving her weekend anchor post to return to reporting full time. KHOU Director of Programming Lisa Trapani Shumate says the station will fill in Saturday mornings with various staff members.
