‘Saturday Night Live’: Eli Manning on the Local News

Crotchety local news reporter Herb Welch was back on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend. Welch, played by Bill Hader, was out covering the Occupy movement for fictional New York station WXPD and Eli Manning, the show’s host, fell victim to his microphone (video above).

Welch is a dead-ringer for former WNYW reporter Dick Oliver.

Former ‘SNL’ Star Accuses WTVF of ‘Brainwashing Viewers’

Former “Saturday Night Live” star, and current conservative activist, Victoria Jackson is accusing WTVF of brainwashing its viewers after the station edited down an interview with her for a report that aired this week.

A WTVF videographer recently spent time with Jackson as she investigated the construction of a new Islamic center just outside of Nashville. In an open letter posted on patriotupdate.com, Jackson voices her disapproval with the report that WTVF eventually aired. Read more

‘SNL’ Lampoons Local News Satellite Delay

On its season premiere this past weekend, “Saturday Night Live” went to WDHX in Buffalo as anchor team Tom Flint (host Alec Baldwin) and Vivian Knowles (Abby Elliott) tried their best to overcome a satellite delay with lifestyle correspondent Denise Fineman (Kristen Wiig), who was reporting live from a Costa Rican jungle brimming with wildlife (video above).
