WGCL Asks Political Group to Drop Its Footage From New Herman Cain Ad

Atlanta CBS-affiliate WGCL wasn’t happy to find its footage being used in a new political ad defending embattled presidential hopeful Herman Cain.

The ad, titled “Vindicating Herman Cain,” started being circulated online this week and attempts to show that Cain is telling the truth in denying the sexual harassment allegations leveled against him by citing a story WGCL did in early November.

WGCL news director Eric Ludgood told TVSpy today that the station has contacted the political committee behind the ad and asked them to stop using the video, which features an Atlanta private investigator analyzing Cain’s response to Sharon Bialek‘s sexual harassment allegations using special lie detector software.

The political committee (999 Fund) has yet to pull the ad from YouTube or its website.

In New Ad, Herman Cain Defends Himself Using WGCL Lie Detector Story

A new political ad for embattled presidential hopeful Herman Cain tries to repair his image by citing a story WGCL did in early November.

“It’s time for the truth,” the ad’s narrator intones (video above).  “The media won’t tell you what one of the foremost lie detector experts in America said about Herman Cain.”

That lie detector expert is an Atlanta private investigator who WGCL enlisted three weeks ago to analyze Cain’s denial of Sharon Bialek‘s sexual harrassment allegations. Read more

Bill Kurtis Smears Herman Cain Accuser Sharon Bialek, a Former CBS Employee, on Chicago Radio

Citing what he heard “in the elevator at work,” legendary WBBM anchor Bill Kurtis discredited Herman Cain accuser Sharon Bialek in a conversation last week on WLS-AM.

Speaking as a guest on WLS’s “The Roe Conn Show,” Kurtis said that Bialek, who worked for CBS in Chicago from 2006-2007, “has a history.”

“There’s a lot more to this story,” Kurtis said of Bialek’s account of sexual harrassment. “I ride in the elevator at work and I hear very quickly a different kind of story.” Read more

After Round of Interviews, ‘Fiance’ of Cain Accuser Tells WLS That He’s Actually ‘Ex-Fiance’

When Sharon Bialek came forward on Monday with accusations that Herman Cain had sexually harassed her, the media quickly swarmed a Chicago man who said he was Bialek’s fiancé.

Mark Harwood did a handful of interviews with Chicago reporters following Bialek’s announcement, defending her motives in accusing Cain.  In every story, Harwood was referred to as Bialek’s fiancé.  But it turns out that they actually split up in February. Read more
