On the Move, 9/24/12

Whit Johnson joins KNBC in Los Angeles, where he will anchor the noon newscast and report for the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts. Previously, Johnson was a correspondent for CBS News in Washington, DC.

Adam Joseph has been named the 10pm meteorologist for WPVI in Philadelphia. He will continue in his role as meteorologist for the 4 and 5 p.m. newscasts, as well as co-hosting the weekly entertainment show.

WNBC general assignment reporter Katy Tur joins NBC News as a New York-based correspondent.

Carolina Sarassa is named a Los Angeles-based correspondent at MundoFox, News Corporation’s Spanish-language channel. She was most recently an anchor at KINC, the Univision station in Las Vegas.

Dave Malkoff moves from KTLA in Los Angeles to Atlanta, where he joins The Weather Channel as a special correspondent. Read more

WVIT Adds Reporter Stephania Jimenez

Stephania Jimenez is joining WVIT.

The Connecticut NBC O&O announced today that Jimenez will join its news team as a reporter. Jimenez, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, comes to WVIT from KTSM-KDBC in El Paso, TX, where she worked as an anchor and reporter for the past year and a half.

“We are looking forward to introducing Stephania to our Connecticut viewers,” WVIT news director Mike St. Peter said, announcing the move. “Her strong producing and bilingual skills will enhance our story-telling to bring viewers even more compelling news coverage.” Read more

VIDEO: KTSM Anchor Produces Awesomely Awkward Newscast Goodbye

KTSM anchor Stephania Jimenez produced the NBC-affiliate’s 10 p.m. newscast on Wednesday and she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have some fun.

As the credits rolled on the newscast, Jimenez and her cohorts at the anchor desk all turned to the side and struck a pose (video above). The resulting image made for a perfect Facebook cover photo.
