WNYW Anchor Greg Kelly Accused of Rape

New Yorkers are used to seeing Greg Kelly in the morning, as he anchors WNYW‘s a.m. newscast.  But Kelly is appearing this morning in an unlikely place: on the cover of the New York Post.

Kelly is currently under investigation for raping a young woman in lower Manhattan last October.  He is the son of New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly so the investigation has been turned over to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

“KELLY SON IN SEX PROBE,” declares today’s Post, along with a photo of the WNYW anchor.

The Fox O&O reported on the investigation during its morning show today, with early morning anchor Steve Lacy filling in for Kelly. Read more

WCVB’s Steve Lacy To Join WNYW in New York City

As our pals at FishbowlNY reported this morning, WCVB anchor Steve Lacy has left Boston for New York’s WNYW. Lacy will start on August 15 as the 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. anchor.

Lacy’s departure from WCVB has been rumored for the past month. A Massachusetts native, he joined the Boston ABC affiliate in 2006 as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Prior to WCVB, Lacy worked at several other New England stations, including WWLP in Springfield, MA and WVII in Bangor.

Lacy will co-anchor WNYW’s “Good Day Wake Up” with Heather Nauert. WNYW is the Fox O&O in New York City.

Emily Riemer Joins Boston’s WCVB as Morning Anchor-Reporter

Emily Riemer is joining Boston’s WCVB and will co-anchor the ABC-affiliate’s weekend morning newscasts alongside Steve Lacy.

Riemer comes to WCVB from Sinclair duopoloy WSYX-WTTE in Columbus, where she worked as a political reporter and news producer.

In addition to co-anchoring WCVB’s weekend morning newscasts, Riemer will work as a general assignment reporter for the weekday morning newscasts.

Riemer, who became known as a hard-nosed political reporter in Columbus and even did a one-on-one interview with President Obama last year, began her TV career at WCVB, where she was a summer intern during her time at Ithaca College.
