KEPR Anchor Terry Chick Recovering From Quintuple Bypass

Terry Chick is taking a break from the KEPR anchor desk as he recovers from open heart surgery.

Chick, who anchors the evening newscasts alongside Whitney Ward at the CBS-affiliate in Pasco, WA, had a quintuple bypass yesterday. His surgery took more than eight hours. According to the station, he is expected to be out of Intensive Care by Wednesday.

Chick began experiencing chest pains about a month ago. He has been chronicling his health journey on his Facebook page:

I sit at the desk every night during our 5 PM newscast giving you the latest health news. Now, I’ll get to find out how some of that relates to me.

Again, I hope to be back at that desk … right alongside Whitney Ward within a month. I know I have a long, hard road of recovery but I’ve been given a great chance here and it’s totally up to me not to screw it up.
