Meteorologist Brittany Rainey Joins KJRH

KJRH, the NBC affiliate in Tulsa, announced Brittany Rainey will be its new weekend evening meteorologist.

“I’m very excited to be here.  Everybody has been so wonderful, including the weather,” Rainey said in her first broadcast for the station.  You can watch the video of her in action after the jump.

Previously, she was weekend forecaster for four CBS affiliates as part of the West Virginia Media Holdings group, WOWK in Huntington, WVNS in Lewisburg, WTRF in Wheeling and WBOY in Clarksburg, West Virgina.  The stations share resources to better cover the state.  Rainey has also worked in Lincoln, NE and Missoula, MT.

KHOU’s Gabe Gutierrez Lands Job with NBC News

Gabe Gutierrez, who has worked as a general assignment reporter for KHOU in Houston since 2010, has landed a job with NBC News.

NBC News president Steve Capus announced today that Gutierrez is joining as a network correspondent based in Atlanta.  Starting next month,  Gutierrez will report across all NBC News platforms, including “Today,” “NBC Nightly News,” and MSNBC.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Gutierrez began his broadcasting career at WBOY, the NBC-affiliate in Clarksburg, WV.  He eventually moved on to WJRT, the ABC-affiliate in Flint, MI, where he was named “Best Reporter” in 2009 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
