Firefighters Come Back After Seeing Fire They Put Out Flare Up Again on Live TV

Tony Geftos, reporter for WTVG in Toledo, was on scene reporting about a man who had jumped out of his window to escape a fire he said was set by an intruder who had also assaulted him.

Firefighters put that fire out then left the scene. A few hours later, while Geftos was talking about the initial fire during the Toledo ABC affiliate’s morning show, the flames came back.

Geftos told viewers later he dropped his mic,”banged on doors and yelled fire.” Normally, that would be the story itself if firefighters hadn’t told Geftos they saw the fire on TV and came back to put the flames out one more time.
