Veteran Reporter Manny De la Rosa Returns to KRGV

Reporter Manny De la Rosa, who was let go in September by Corpus Christi’s KIII, has joined KRGV in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley.

De la Rosa worked at the ABC-affiliate for four years before joining KIII.  Media Moves, a blog covering Latinos in media, is reporting that De la Rosa signed a 3-year contract.

“I am happy to return home to KRGV and work with my old friends and can’t wait to get to the office to get to work,” De la Rosa told TVSpy today.

De La Rosa, a graduate of USC, has nearly 20 years of reporting experience.  He says that he hopes to do more in-depth reporting during his second tenure with KRGV.

“I hope we can dig more this second time around and conduct more investigative stories,” he said via email. “Also hope we can really show what’s happening on the border so people can understand the war residents and authorities are facing.”
