WBKB Reaches Affiliation Agreement with ABC, Launches Morning Newscast
ABC and Thunder Bay Broadcasting have reached an affiliation agreement in Alpena, Mich. Thunder Bay Broadcasting’s WBKB will air ABC programming on digital channel 11.3 beginning Monday.
As part of the affiliation agreement, the digital subchannel will also broadcast local news for the market. The station’s morning newscast will be the only one in Alpena.
“The launch of ‘WBKB Morning News’ as a lead-in to ‘Good Morning America’ is a delightful new endeavor. Our news team and production staff have been working on numerous innovative concepts,” WBKB general manager Cher Allen said in a statement. “We are dedicated to provide more local news, weather, sports and first-rate programming to the viewers and advertisers in Northeast Michigan.”
WBKB airs CBS programming on its main channel and Fox programming on channel 11.2.
