WIBW’s Suzie Gilbert Leaves TV for City Job

Suzie Gilbert, reporter and anchor for WIBW, the Topeka, KS, CBS affiliate will leave the bright lights for the big city job.

At the end of October, Gilbert will transition into the communications director position serving as the primary media contact for the city of Topeka.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, city manager Jim Colson said, “She will be primarily responsible for directing and enhancing the city’s communication program, including internal and external communications, media relations and public information, social media, Web presence and City4 operations.”

Gilbert started at WIBW in 2010.  She previously worked in radio at KXCV/KRNW, the NPR affiliate in northwest Missouri.
