WWL Celebrates 55 Years On the Air in New Orleans
New Orleans CBS affiliate WWL is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the date it began broadcasting, September 7, 1957.
The station has assembled a photo gallery of its most famous anchors, including this one of Bill Elder, who anchored WWL’s 5 p.m. newscast for more than three decades.
“Thank you for watching and supporting us all these years and for many years to come!” the station said in a statement.
