WWL’s Sally-Ann Roberts to Donate Bone Marrow Cells to Her Sister, ‘GMA’ Anchor Robin Roberts

WWL anchor Sally-Ann Roberts will undergo a procedure to donate bone marrow cells to her sister, “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts, who has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia.

The Roberts sisters were  on “GMA” this morning when Robin Roberts shared the news with viewers. WWL aired a taped interview with Sally-Ann Roberts on the morning newscast (video inside).

“The best news that we received was that I’m a perfect match,” Sally-Ann Roberts said. “And when I got that news, it was like Christmas times 1,000. Because anyone who knows what it’s like to wait for that kind of news realizes the trauma.”

The pair will begin pre-transplant procedures today, with the actual transplant slated for later this summer.
