Why is David Corn ‘efforting’?

The MSNBC schedule for today’s guest lineup includes a bizarre couple of words. Things to ponder: Who says “efforting”? The network also has  Mother Jones Washington Bureau Chief David Corn “efforting.” What he’s “efforting” at is anyone’s guess.

Here’s how the schedule reads:

“COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN” (LIVE, 8-9 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
Topics/Guests:
TEA PARTY/GOP INFIGHTING: efforting Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA),
efforting David Corn, Washington Bureau Chief

> Update: It appears I missed the memo on this. Thankfully a few trusty readers wrote in to educate me. One writes, “Efforting” is (annoyingly) very common lingo in TV. ‘Efforting David Corn’ means ‘we’re trying to book David Corn.’” And another similarly informs, “In TV parlance, efforting means trying to secure something, like a guest or piece of video.” Duly noted.
