New Trailer Revealed For ‘The Drop’

Fox Searchlight has unveiled a new trailer for The Drop. The screenplay for this film adaptation is based on Dennis Lehane’s short story “Animal Rescue.”

According to Deadline, the cast includes actors Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and the late James Gandolfini. A release date has been scheduled for September 12, 2014.

Is the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a Superhero?

Would you consider Lisbeth Salander (a.k.a. the girl with the dragon tattoo) a superhero?

At New York Comic Con this year, a panel of veteran comic book writers and editors debated this topic; the panelists included Tom DeFalco (Marvel), Danny Fingeroth (Marvel), Paul Levitz (DC) , and Denny O’Neil (DC, Marvel). Psychologist Robin Rosenberg, editor of  The Psychology of Superheroes and The Psychology of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, acted as the moderator.

The panelists all agreed that the definition of a superhero is difficult to pin down. However, they discussed two particular qualities that many superheroes possess: a heroic role heroic and abilities that go beyond what humans are realistically capable of.

“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” Coming to U.S. Theaters

griltatoo23.jpgAccording to Variety, Music Box Films has purchased U.S. rights to the Swedish adaptation of the late Stieg Larsson‘s bestseller, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”

The film has already collected nearly $100 million around the world, and was produced for a lean $13 million. The company plans to bring the film to U.S. theaters “early next year.”
