Here Come the Kardashian Divorce Statements

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are divorcing. I know, I know. You thought after the “fairytale wedding” these two kids would be together forever, happily ever after. The unexpected tragedy of today’s news only adds to the horror that is Halloween.

Soooo. What now? The statements! Here’s what Kim had to say “exclusively” to E!: ”After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was one made after 72 days of marriage. They tried y’all. But, according to TMZ, they just couldn’t agree on where to live.

And here’s E! statement, made “exclusively” to E!. Note: E! has issued a statement before Kris Humphries did.

“All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news, and we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time. The Kardashians have always been uniquely open with all aspects of their lives from joyous events to intimate moments to heartbreaking transitions. E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family.”

Kim has asked that the couple stick with the pre-nup and The New York Times’ Don Van Natta has calculated that, with the $17.9 million sale of the rights to the wedding, they’ve earned $10,358.80 per hour. (Further breakdown here.)  Heartbreaking indeed.

E! seems to be throwing around a lot of “exclusive” talk since TMZ has had a firm grip on this story all day, even publishing the divorce papers. Hard to believe we can get so much “exclusive” info about a couple who sold the rights to their wedding.
