Bradley Cooper to Attend Allbritton Brunch?

For the fourth year in a row, Politico Publisher Robert Allbritton, and his wife, Dr. Elena Allbritton, are opening their Georgetown home to a list of select Politico reporters, stars and political big shots. On the list is actor Bradley Cooper. The Politico statement released this morning is careful to say “Invited guests include…” just in case one of those high maintenance stars decides not to show up.

Nonetheless, it is at least possible Cooper will attend.

Boyle’s Taco And Other Scenes From Breitbart News‘s CPAC Fiesta

Yes, another CPAC post…

The Breitbart Embassy along with NewsMax on Friday hosted a fiesta with a real life mariachi band after the second day of CPAC. The party also featured a full buffet of tacos and two separate bars with beer, sangria and margaritas.

Matt Boyle of Breitbart News, and a perpetual point of FBDC fascination, was seen eating two tacos with nothing but meat on them. This, despite tables laid out with elaborate salsas, sour cream, rice and beans.

At around midnight, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist took over one of the bars and started serving shots.

Notables: Breitbart News‘s Larry Solov, Kerry Picket and Michael Patrick Leahy; CQ Roll Call‘s Jonathan Strong; National Review‘s John Fund and Betsy Woodruff; BuzzFeed‘s John Stanton; Brian Darling, counsel to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.); and GOProud’s Jimmy LaSalvia (yes, they let him in, despite his group not being allowed at CPAC).

Quotable: “The most diversity here is the mariachi band.”– a partygoer, noting the mostly male, mostly white crowd.

Human Events Publisher’s Wife to Groom Dogs

The annual Fashion For Paws benefit is two months away and Joe Guerriero, publisher of Human Events, really wants people to attend. Not for him, but for his wife, who will be primping and prepping the dogs backstage.

“I never do this type of stuff, but as many of you know, my wife Jenn is an avid dog lover and dog trainer,” Guerriero wrote this morning in an email blast to a handful of media types, including FishbowlDC. “Last night she strong-armed me into reaching out to some folks I know in hopes there might be some dog lovers among you.”

Later in the email Guerriero urges recipients and their friends to purchase tickets to the event and explains that until last year, he wasn’t aware “that the show brought out a veritable ‘who’s who’ D.C. crowd.”

Journo Perks: Brooks Brothers Bow Tie

On behalf of Brooks Brothers, the clothier that has outfitted 39 U.S. Presidents including Presidents Lincoln, Kennedy, and Obama, BrandLinkDC has organized an event tonight to teach you how to tie a bow tie.

In fact, Brooks Brothers historian (did anyone know they had a historian?), Kelly Nickel will teach you how to properly tie a bow tie as well as be available for any inaugural attire related interviews. A Brooks Brothers collection of Inauguration essentials will also be on display.

We’re told those who attend will receive a Generations of Style coffee table book worth $68. Many who attend have also received this black bow-tie, which arrived all wrapped up in a beautiful box.

Boyle Unloads On Holiday Parties: ‘Get Your Shit Together And Get Back To Work’

Breitbart NewsMatthew Boyle proved during his tenure at The Daily Caller that he’s a bit of a loose cannon as far as being a part of D.C.’s press corp. goes.

His news-gathering techniques demonstrated a certain contempt for the traditional way things work in the city; like the time he told a DNC spokesman if he didn’t respond to questions by deadline, he would essentially make up the answers.

In his latest demonstration of just how much he despises the D.C. culture., often viewed as exceedingly insular, Boyle posted a screed on Facebook against the most least threatening Washington feature of all: holiday parties.

“I can’t stand the damned D.C. holiday party circuit,” Boyle wrote on his own Facebook Wednesday. “It’s another example of everything that’s wrong with the Washington Culture.”

$2 Burgers at P.J. Clarke’s

P.J. Clarke’s, a watering hole that caters to Washington journos, is celebrating it’s second anniversary by offering its famous burgers for $2 for both lunch and dinner.

Today they’re hosting a soirée from 11a.m. to a.m. (your editors will let you out for this, right?) to celebrate.

The place is famous. In New York it’s where Jackie O brought Caroline and John Jr. for lunch on Saturdays. As the invite explains, “P.J. Clarke’s has seen more change in its time than most can hope for in a lifetime. The Depression, Prohibition, two World Wars – growth in New York and expansion to DC and Vegas – P.J. Clarke’s has seen it all. But one component has remained unchanged since it’s founding in 1884; the institution for which it was founded upon.”
Of course, Hurricane Sandy has affected them, too…

National Journal’s Fournier Finds Halloween Love

On Halloween, fast food chain White Castle tweeted out the question, “What are you dressed as?” First of all, maybe we should make a new rule, if you’re old enough to have a Twitter account, you’re too old to dress up for Halloween.

In any event, one person who responded was National Journal’s Editor-in-Chief Ron Fournier. He replied, “True story: Met my wife while dressed as @whitecastle hamburger in ’83. She was (and is) an angel.”

Awwww. While it’s a sweet story, I’d have a really hard time equating the love of my life with tiny, steamed hamburgers. We spoke with Fournier about that fateful night… Read more
