Professional Experience

Everyone needs an editor (even editors, truth be told). I have some subject expertise (conservation, the humanities, literature, advertising, trends, competitive intelligence), but I've served as an the ideal "educated layperson" editor/writer for many projects, from dissertations and application essays to grant proposals and creative writing. I'm always up for new adventures. Once the basics of style and grammar are laid out, consistency is key, along with tailoring your work for its intended audience, all the while maintaining the original author's words and voice as much as possible. I prefer working for those I can meet in person, but I'm quite happy to work remotely. I'm especially interested in opportunities to collaborate with those translating their native language into English. If you want me to help you turn your translation into polished, artful English, please contact me. I've also tutored non-native speakers of English in composition, research, culture, and general speaking, listen
