Professional Experience
Since graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 1999, I have worked as a staff writer and editor at various newspapers and websites. I spent nine years working for the Gannett Co., the largest newspaper publisher in the United States. I also held a staff writing position in the Corporate Communications Dept. of New Jersey's largest health insurance company -- Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
Currently, I am a freelance writer and editor. I write about LGBT issues for the Gannett Co. and for "Out In Jersey" magazine. Among my articles was an in-depth personal interview with Emmy award-winning actor Leslie Jordan, who played the character Beverly Leslie on the groundbreaking hit sitcom "Will & Grace" on NBC. In addition to writing, I am a content editor for a start-up educational website called Simple Step Learning, which is based in Long Branch, N.J.
