Professional Experience

See samples of my work at I specialize in promotional and informational writing for nonprofits and small businesses, crafting copy and providing creative direction for websites, brochures, mailers, feature articles, annual reports, media releases, and social media. Most of my work falls under the broad umbrella of marketing communications, but my experience is wide-ranging. Career highlights include writing the copy for a permanent exhibit at the Harry S Truman Library and Museum; serving as lead writer and editor for three in-depth "Beyond Charity" reports that document the role of nonprofits in Greater Washington; and blogging from the 2013 Aspen Ideas Festival for The Atlantic as part of an sponsored marketing campaign. I especially enjoy partnering with talented graphic designers to develop concepts for websites and print materials.
