I create jump-off-the-page content for or about people of color for magazines and blogs, foundations and nonprofits, government agencies and anyone else who places a premium on compelling storytelling. I love projects that allow me to help advance conversations about diversity, advocacy and social justice. Issues around race, gender, class and culture make my heart flutter, particularly related to women, African-Americans and underrepresented populations. That passion comes across in my work. As a copywriter and cultural communications strategist, I partner with businesses and organizations to develop brand messaging that speaks specifically to African-American audiences. I know what resonates, what sticks and what converts. My writing is publish-ready but if yours isn’t, I’m also a skilled copyeditor and ghostwriter with as much experience beautifying existing content as I have in creating it from scratch.
