Professional Experience
In 2009 I co-founded Live Unchained, a platform featuring in-depth interviews with innovative women and creatives across the African diaspora. With a keen eye for talent, I secured and conducted more than 100 interviews with artists from over 16 countries. Editing and writing for my own blog attracted various publications. I quickly became a well-published freelancer with a strong perspective on arts, culture, wellness, business and technology. My wide-ranging portfolio includes interviews with technology and creative CEOs, entrepreneurs, visual artists and intellectuals. My expository and critical features are equally eclectic; I have written on Jay-Z's ground-breaking deal with Samsung, fine and graphic art reviews and business profiles. I ask provocative questions and create sticky and delicious content that keeps readers engaged and eager to spread the word. I honed my excellent research skills as a Sociology graduate student and am currently pursuing my PhD.
