Professional Experience

Markets taking record dives to open the year bodes for a rough ride in 2016. My long career in business journalism with publications like Barron's and Institutional Investor gives me the tools to analyze this volatile environment and bring some perspective for investors and executives. The focus of my current columns for USA Today and MarketWatch is on money and power in Washington, Wall Street and Europe, so that I can also delve into the monetary and fiscal policies driving markets today. In addition, other recent assignments range from personal finance topics for consumer media to long features for trade publications on specialized topics like corporate governance, commercial finance, and electric utilities. Other work experience includes staff positions at Dow Jones, Bloomberg, International Herald Tribune as well as editorial management at AOL. I have published four books.
