Kreissman joins RL&A with more than 13 years of delivering marketing, social media and PR results for clients in the HBA, consumer packaged goods, personal care, beauty, men’s grooming, retail and lifestyle categories. During his tenure at several notable NYC agencies, including Porter Novelli, Marina Maher Communications, and Bullfrog & Baum, he worked on many iconic brands. (Release)

The Hearst-owned iCrossing has promoted six-year vet Brian Powley to global president. Powley, who initially joined iCrossing in 2007 to manage the agency’s San Francisco office before taking on the role of chief client officer and subsequently president of its North American operations. Powley takes over for president/CEO Don Scales, who is leaving iCrossing after seven years at the helm. Prior to his joining iCrossing, which currently counts 18 global offices and clients including Beam, Coca-Cola, Pep Boys and FedEx, Powley held managing director positions on the West Coast at both MRM and what was then Modem Media. Los Angeles based entertainment agency Industry Public Relations (IPR) has merged with New York City lifestyle and events agency LuxeLife Media (LLM). IPR, a boutique entertainment public relations firm ran by Tracy Nguyen and Kisha Maldonado-Madrid, has expanded the agency and the firm’s east coast presence by partnering up with LuxeLife Media founder Christina Rice.

Operating under one name, LLM clients have folded into the Industry Public Relations roster. In addition, IPR has added VIBE Media to its growing client roster, serving as AOR for the iconic publishing brand as it celebrates its 20th year anniversary. Under the new merger, Rice will lead the east coast operations and Nguyen / Maldonado-Madrid will continue to lead the west coast operations.

Edelman announced the appointment of Jennifer Cohan as chair of the global consumer practice, effective January 2, 2013. Cohan will be based in New York and report to Alan VanderMolen, vice chairman, DJE Holdings and president & CEO, Global Practices. Cohan, currently managing director at GolinHarris International, Inc. in New York, has over twenty years of global experience in consumer marketing public relations. She currently oversees GolinHarris New York’s strategic direction and operations, working across multiple sectors of the business, and serves as an active senior counselor to several clients, including Unilever, OraSure and Olympus. Seattle-based digital marketing agency Metia announced the appointment of Andrew Martin as president and the promotion of J. Paul Anderson to the position of regional vice president. As president, Martin will focus on managing higher-level organizational strategy and expansion projects. Anderson, a seasoned digital marketing agency professional with more than 17 years of experience in the industry, will report to Martin as he oversees operations in the Seattle office. (Release)

Robin Leedy & Associates will open an office in Manhattan this December. The new office, at Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, will supplement the organization’s Mount Kisco, New York office (which will remain its headquarters). The firm’s new managing director, Tara McNally–formerly of Edelman, Chicago–will head up the RL&A Manhattan office. Tara will oversee account teams and staff development, client services and brand campaigns, reporting to EVP/Partner Alyson O’Mahoney. (Release)

Elwiri, the Spanish-language lifestyle mobile phone app, has chosen DIÁLOGO as its AOR. Work will target Hispanic audiences, which are growing in their mobile usage. Elwiri provides video, coupons, news, and other info and offers.

Edelman has created Krispr Communications to handle the Kellogg business that it won last month. The agency had previously been called “K Group.” Kathy Krenger, a former Kellogg marketing exec and current Edelman Chicago GM and deputy EVP, will lead the firm. [via Holmes Report]
