Anchor Hannah Horne Says Goodbye to WIS

WIS morning anchor Hannah Horne is saying goodbye to the NBC affiliate in Columbia, S.C. to pursue a career in business.

“I’m a little nervous to try something new, but I’m prepared,” Horne told The State. “I’ve never been more ready.”

Horne, who joined the station in 2000, anchored her final broadcast Thursday. The State reports Mary King, who is a multimedia journalist for WIS, will replace Horne.

Before joining WIS in 2000, Horne worked at KPLC in Lake Charles, La. and WLOX in Biloxi, Miss.

Reporter Back On Air After Losing Her Smile

Mary King, a 25-year-old reporter with WIS in Columbia, SC, was knocked off the air earlier this month after the right side of her face suddenly became paralyzed.

King was on a plane at the Charlotte airport on June 1st, waiting to take off, when she realized that she couldn’t move the right side of her face. She alerted a flight attendant and after deboarding the plane, she headed to a nearby hospital, where she was eventually diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a relatively rare condition that causes facial paralysis.
