Meteorologist Ashton Altieri Joins WFAA

Meteorologist Ashton Altieri is joining WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth.

“In a few weeks I’ll be joining the weather team at WFAA in Dallas,” Altieri tweeted. “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity!”

Altieri signed off from KXTV, the ABC affiliate in Sacramento, in May.  He has previously worked at KUSA in Denver, WLNS in Lansing, Mich., WOI in Des Moines and WCBI in Columbus, Miss. [h/t NewsBlues]

Anchor Keegan Foxx Joins WAPT From WTVA

Keegan Foxx has joined WAPT, the ABC affiliate in Jackson, Miss., as morning co-anchor.

Foxx moves to Jackson from Tupelo, where she was the morning co-anchor at WTVA. She has previously worked as a reporter at two other stations in Mississippi: WDAM in Hattiesburg and WCBI in Columbus.

“Keegan is a solid, experienced news anchor and journalist with deep Mississippi roots and sound knowledge of the issues that affect our state. We are thrilled to have her co-anchoring 16 WAPT Morning News,” WAPT news director Bruce Barkley said in a statement.

Foxx’s first day alongside Megan West at the anchor desk was Wednesday.

WBBJ Taps Keith Baker as News Director

Keith Baker has been hired as news director at WBBJ, the ABC-affiliate in Jackson, TN. The move was confirmed to TVSpy by WCTI, where Baker is currently the assistant news director.

Baker joined WCTI last year from WFTS, the ABC-affiliate in Tampa, where he was an assignment editor. He has also worked at WPXI in Pittsburgh as an assignment editor and assignment manager.

He replaces Robert Davidson, who left the station to become news director for WCBI in Columbus, MS.

>Update: WBBJ has released an official announcement on Baker’s hire. He will start May 14 in Jackson, the town where his parents went to college and his uncle and grandmother have previously lived. Read more
