Course Details

Entering the media workforce and living on your own can be a daunting experience. Becoming financially independent is a rite of passage, but how do you create a budget when there are so many bills to pay? How many dependents should you claim on your tax forms? Does your cat count? And did you know that if you make below $65k, you should be able to deduct all your student loan interest?

This seminar, co-taught by a CPA and a financial planner, will answer all of your financial questions. Learn what you need to do to control your finances now -- and plan ahead.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • The right number of exemptions to claim on your W-4 form
  • How to take advantage of any 401(k) plan offered to you
  • When it becomes necessary to hire an accountant
  • Why you need to save now for retirement, and how much you'll need
  • The best ways to pay off your student loans
  • Tax deductions available for continuing education
