Course Details

Technology is part of everything we do, from iPhones to ultrasounds. Everyone needs our hyperaccelerated world explained in a way they can understand -- which means there's a big market out there for writing about tech and the science behind it. From top-dollar glossies like Wired magazine to your local newspaper, countless publications run articles on how new inventions and ideas are changing everything.

Many writers are intimidated by the eggheadery that seems to be required, but you don't need any special training or knowledge to write about tech - just the basic tools of good journalism, applied intelligently. This course will teach you how.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • How to find and develop technology stories
  • How to research scientific subjects when you majored in English
  • Which publications to target
  • How to craft a killer query for a science or technology story
