Course Details

Television is a producer's medium and being an executive producer entails a great deal more than occupying a spacious corner office, barking out orders, and collecting Emmys. How do you protect and sell your idea? Once you've sold it, what will be your involvement? What sort of work experience builds the skills required to become a TV producer? How do you get your idea produced even if you don't yet have all this experience?

This seminar will tell you how to move up in this highly competitive industry and will address the combination of tried and true leadership techniques, business savvy, and creative chutzpah required to get the most out of your original concept, whether series, movie or special, comedy, dramatic, nonfiction, or reality.

In this seminar, you will learn about:

  • How to provide great creative leadership and build success
  • The best work experience to support creation of your TV show
  • The development and selling process
  • Industry deal points and agency representation of your project
  • The advantages (and pitfalls) of attaching talent to your show
  • Retaining rights and creative control
  • Networking leads and opportunities
