A good copy editor can be an invaluable member of an editorial staff or enjoy a lucrative freelance career. But to flourish in the business, you must have impeccable skills, work well on a team, and be able to use QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign. This seminar will tell you all you need to know about starting your copy editing career.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • How to improve your grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
  • How to edit from your computer using track changes
  • How to avoid grammatical pitfalls and identify commonly misused words
  • How to use proofreading and copy editing symbols
  • How to explore the AP Stylebook and other reference materials
  • How to develop a copy editing resume and find work as a copy editor
  • What to expect once you get a job
