Even More Job Cuts; Publisher Abandons Newsweek

Newsprint's Doomsday Clock ticked a few minutes closer to midnight this week. On top of Ann Marie Lipinski

on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution announced
it's cutting 189 jobs -- 8 percent of its total workforce -- because of "tough economic times." The Wall Street Journal
followed suit, announcing via internal memo
that it's cutting 50 editing jobs due to "strategic" reasons. And then Newsweek
president and publisher Greg Osberg quit abruptly
