As the financial future of the New York Times Co. gets gloomier and gloomier (its arch-rivals at the Wall Street Journal report that Standard & Poor's is poised to cut the company's bond rating to junk status), at least it's figured out what to do with the International Herald Tribune for now. NYT assistant managing editor William Schmidt has been tapped as editor, global editions, taking over from Marty Gottlieb, who is headed back to New York from Paris to oversee the deeper integration of the two papers...
