Michael Lewis has hit another Moneyball out of the park. The journo, who was earning a rumored $12 per word at struggling Portfolio, looks set to decamp for Graydon Carter's Vanity Fair. The deal was discussed (where else?) at the editor's humble abode, The Waverly Inn. Lewis, who is still under contract with Portfolio and The New York Times Magazine, penned a 16,000-word story about Cuban baseball in VF's July issue.
