Tribune Exec Suspended; Is AOL Buying Yahoo?

Is Yahoo for sale? AOL Inc. is investigating a possible acquisition of the struggling Internet company. The rumors sent Yahoo's stock soaring, although people involved with the discussions urged caution, as we're only at the very beginning of the talks. Private equity groups Silver Lake Partners and Blackstone Group are part of the ordeal as well, which at this point doesn't involve Yahoo. News Corp. is also potentially involved, as investors have approached the company about partnering to take Yahoo private. Meanwhile, Carol Bartz's company recruits Talking Points Memo blogger Zachary Roth for The Upshot. He'll cover national affairs...

Newsweek catches a break as Ramin Setoodeh returns. He left for a gig at People in June, but it "wasn't the right fit."... Natalie Thomas departs New York for Los Angeles.
