Another Murdoch On The Outs; AdWeek Cries Wolff

Could James Murdoch be the next person to go in the wake of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal? Perhaps. A group of British pension funds are demanding that Rupert's son leaves News Corp's board because of his association with the events. His "continued presence on the News Corp board is causing significant reputational damage to the company and is no longer in shareholders' interest," the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum wrote in an emailed statement. The LAPF won't have too much direct influence -- they own less than one percent of the company -- but their vocal presence will continue to put pressure on Rupert and his senior team to make changes. Elsewhere in the News Corp world, Fox restructures its marketing and communications group...

Michael Wolff still has a job at AdWeek. For now. Prometheus' chairman is keeping the editorial director around, despite reports to the contrary. The real question, probably, is whether Wolff still wants the trade magazine gig... Marie Claire hires Joyce Chang as executive editor, poaching her from People StyleWatch. She replaces Anne Fulenwider, who decamped to run Brides. MC also grabs Geraldine Sealey as editor-at-large and promotes deputy editor Lea Goldman to features director. The former replaces Abigail Pesta, who jumped to Newsweek/The Daily Beast...

ESPN ends its relationship with Hank Williams Jr. The singer told Fox & Friends some, um, really stupid things last week, and the Worldwide Leader parted ways with the singer. Williams, for his part, released a statement saying it was his decision and that he was walking away. Taking his song and going home, if you will. Anyway, that's over... Michelle Caruso-Cabrera is the new chief international correspondent at CNBC. She spent last month in Greece, presumably in preparation for her new assignment... The BBC cuts 2,000 jobs as part of its ongoing effort to save money... Vivid Entertainment offers Amanda Knox a job as a spokeswoman. Of course, they did...

Craig Dubow resigns as chairman and CEO at Gannett. He took a medical leave last month. Gracia Martore will replace him as CEO with Marjorie Magner serving as chairman of the board... McSweeney's, which is publishing a Grantland Quarterly, signs Ethan Nosowsky as editorial director. He had been editor-at-large at Graywolf Press and previously worked at Farrar, Straus and Giroux... Open Road Integrated Media snags Christopher Davis as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He comes over from AOL/The Huffington Post Group where he had been senior vice president of business operations... And there are changes at The Week, BizBash and more...
