Ryan Seacrest to Today? Don't be surprised if it happens, as the American Idol host (and hardest working man in show biz) met with NBC executives to discuss the possibility of him replacing Matt Lauer. The talks are still in the earliest of early stages, but this could become a reality. The match makes too much sense. Today needs a big-name anchor (for sure) and Seacrest could use a change of scenery (probably). The details will work themselves out; money talks...

T.J. Holmes, CNN's "affable anchor," moves to Black Entertainment Television. The network plans to build a new show around the 34-year-old talent who had been anchoring the weekend editions of CNN Newsroom. He started his career working as a producer in Joplin, Missouri. Holmes spent six years at the 24-hour news network... CBS News taps Andrew Cohen as its new legal analyst. He will continue as senior legal analyst and legal editor at CBS News Radio... NPR fills its Weekend Edition Sunday hosting opening with National Security correspondent Rachel Martin...

Vanity Fair snags Judith Puckett-Rinella as photography director. She joins from the senior photography editor position at The New York Times Style Magazine... Scott Bland joins National Journal as editor of "House Race Hotline." Current editor Jessica Taylor leaves for Rothenburg Political Report... TheAtlantic.com grabs a couple new names for its rapidly growing ranks. David Graham joins as associate editor of the politics channel from Newsweek/The Daily Beast, while Megan Garber leaves Nieman's Journalism Lab for a gig on the tech vertical... Rachel Elson and Lindsay Blakely join Inc.com as managing editor and senior editor of innovation and technology...

Mike Hodges moves into the role of president and COO of the San Diego Union-Tribune, while current publisher Ed Moss moves into a consulting role. The change comes about a month after Doug Manchester purchased the publication from Platinum Equity... Comcast promotes Neil Smit to president and CEO of the entire company. He had been president of the cable division...

In an effort to be more streamlined, Facebook reorganizes its ranks. Among the winners: Bret Taylor, Sam Lessin, Mike Schroepfer and Greg Badros. The loser: Chris Cox, who has to share product oversight with a bunch of other people... And there are changes at TED.com, Parents and more...
