Woman's Day grabs Time Inc. vet Susan Spencer as editor-in-chief. She had been executive editor of All You. Current EIC Elizabeth Mayhew decides to leave the company, which sounds rather ominous. (WWD has her resigning.) The magazine recently cut its frequency by 20 percent, dropping from 15 issues per year to 12. Ad pages through February are down 18 percent but a spokeswoman says newsstand is up almost a quarter. Regardless, Spencer has her work cut out for her...

Andrew Beaujon takes Jim Romenesko's former position as media reporter at the Poynter Institute. He is currently the arts and entertainment editor at TBD.com and tells the New York Observer that he plans to define "media" more broadly than his predecessor. There will also be more original reporting... Newsweek loses Matt McAllester less than six months after he arrived. The Pulitzer Prize-winning war correspondent joins Time as a freelance senior editor... DC hires Sarah Crosland as senior editor. She had been associate editor at Charlotte...

The Atlanta Jewish Times loses its publisher after he wrote a column discussing the assassination of President Obama at the hands of Israel. Major Garrett returns to the White House beat, covering the 2012 campaign for National Journal. The former Fox News correspondent was spending his time following Congress, a job that falls to Chris Frates... Geraldo Rivera lands a radio show in Los Angeles. He'll start off with a bang (or, perhaps, a puff), interviewing his former neighbor Cheech Marin...
