Bill Maher Jumps On VICE; Elle.com Adds Editor

The Vice Media empire grows another arm. HBO will launch a newsmagazine based on the publication, with founder Shane Smith hosting and executive producing along with Bill Maher and Vice chief creative officer Eddy Moretti. Fareed Zakaria will serve as a consultant, rounding out the unlikely cast of characters. The show will be "like nothing else on TV," according to HBO's Michael Lombardo. Potential story subjects include Taliban suicide bombers, North Korean slave labor camps, voodoo heroin clinics in New York, and Somalian pirates. That's so Vice...

Deborah Mignucci steps in as publisher of Fit Pregnancy and associate publisher of Shape. Margaret Hoover steps in as a political contributor at CNN. She had been at Fox News Channel but left earlier this year after failing to come to a contract agreement. Her husband John Avlon already contributes to the 24-hour news network and her great-grandfather is Herbert Hoover, who, presumably, did not... David Shulman is out as president of Wunderman.
