The New York Observer continues its makeover after the departure of Elizabeth Spiers. New editor Aaron Gell hires Emily Anne Epstein, formerly of The Daily Mail, as managing editor and taps Faye Penn as executive editor. She had been features editor at The New York Post and founder of Brokelyn. Additionally, Michael Woodsmall, who had been managing editor, jumps to the business side to join new publisher Mike Albanese. Duff McDonald will be a contributing editor.
