Clear Channel Media Holdings keeps one top executive but loses another. CEO Bob Pittman extends his contract for five more years as he helps move the network into the digital age. "I initially took on this role because of the one-of-a-kind assets at Clear Channel, with greater reach than any other media company in America, and its people, who have both the creativity and the drive to reinvent the company," he told the Hollywood Reporter. "The opportunity was irresistible -- and it’s been validated by the success of the iHeartRadio digital service, which reached 20 million registered users faster than any service in the history of the Internet." John Hogan, however, is retiring after 15 years with the company. He had been CEO of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment...

The New York Times officially hires Michael Forsythe, the former Bloomberg News reporter who left the company after one of his reports about China was spiked. Meanwhile, the Times loses Fiona Spruill. She had been mobile and Web editor at the paper of record but joins Meetup as head of global growth. Spruill served as homepage editor on September 11, 2001. Kristin Hodgson also moves to Meetup, coming on as communications director. She had been senior managing director of digital initiatives at Teach for America... The Ogden Standard-Examiner cuts between six and 12 newsroom jobs. Editorial cartoonist Cal Grondahl, graphic arts director Michael Goodwin, and sports editor and columnist Chris Miller are among the staffers looking for work... Ryan Holeywell jumps to the Houston Chronicle from Governing where he had been covering transportation and infrastructure...

Meghan McCain lands a television show. She'll co-host TakePart Live with Jacob Soboroff. She had been working on Raising McCain, a documentary-style program, but "the show did so well for us that we wanted more of her,” Pivot president Evan Shapiro said. Meanwhile, YouTube recruits Soboroff to host its new YouTube Nation show, a daily program highlighting the best that the video sharing website has to offer. Steve Woolf and Zadi Diaz are the executive producers... CNN rolls up its tech coverage. David Goldman is the man in charge of the new, combined force that will consist of reporters, editors, and producers located in New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco. The plan calls for "a single powerhouse team with a unified vision." Brandon Giggs will work as something of Goldman's deputy with Erica Fink coordinating the video side of the effort... Peter Kadzis takes a job as senior editor at WGBH. He previously worked as the editor of The Boston Phoenix...

Glamour gives Rashida Jones and Zosia Mamet contributor roles. They will write monthly columns... Travel + Leisure recruits Matthew Carroll as vice president and associate publisher. He had been at Modern Luxury... The Neiman Foundation names five Visiting Fellows for 2014: Taylor Goldenstein, Samar Padmaker Halarnkar, Tina Pamintuan, Allissa Richardson, and David Smydra... And there are changes at AtlanticLIVE, Tribune Broadcasting, and more...
