Someone apparently forgot to warn Elvis Mitchell to be careful what he wished for, because he just might get it. The former New York Times film critic (and lackadaisical Harvard lecturer) surely must have screamed to himself "I could make a better movie than this!" while watching cinematic gems like "Maid in Manhattan." Well, the good news is Mitchell has gotten his wish, pulling a reverse Peter Bart and successfully making the transition from scribe to studio exec at Columbia Pictures, where he'll scout for talent as an "executive production consultant."
